Yes. One network, a test environment, and a small feature set is exactly how we would start, whether that is Ethereum or a cheaper layer two such as Base. What cannot be deferred is planning for upgrades, because once code is published a bug cannot simply be patched like an app update. Designing for that early is far cheaper.

We keep our client list private, so the honest version of this answer comes when we talk. The transferable skill is keeping the public ledger and your ordinary database honest with each other, including what happens when a transaction succeeds on the network but your app never hears about it. That matters more than which chain you pick.

Most builds share a spine: connecting a user's wallet, normally through WalletConnect, signing transactions clearly enough that people understand what they are approving, balances and history, and readable status while something is pending. Behind that sits a node provider such as Alchemy to reach the network, and an indexer so history loads quickly.

You own the code, the contracts and the deployment keys, and we would rather not hold those. After launch, node providers change pricing and networks upgrade, so somebody has to watch it. We do that under a support agreement. If a contract behaves unexpectedly we treat it as an emergency, because a live network cannot be rolled back.
