PassSafe App Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 3, 2026
PassSafe (hereinafter referred to as the “app,” “we,” or “us”) was developed with one core principle in mind: your data belongs only to you. We do not collect, store, or transmit your passwords, usernames, or other personal information. This policy describes the minimum information we process and how you can control your privacy.
1. What data we collect
1.1. Data you provide voluntarily
The master password (entered to access the vault) is never transmitted to our servers, is not stored, and is not known to us. It remains only on your device and is used for local encryption.
Logins, passwords, notes, files—all the information you save in PassSafe is stored exclusively on your device (or in your personal cloud, if you enable synchronization). We have no physical access to it.
1.2. Automatically Collected Technical Data (Limited)
When using the app (without creating an account), we may collect anonymous information:
OS version and device model (for compatibility diagnostics only).
Language and regional settings.
Information about critical errors (crash reports) — without linking to your data.
None of this information contains your passwords, encryption keys, or personal information.
1.3. Data we never collect
Passwords, usernames, files, and notes from storage.
Your activity history within the app (what you opened, what you changed).
Biometric data (fingerprint, Face ID)—this is processed only by the iOS system on your device.
Data about your location, contacts, calendar, and photos.
Information about websites you’ve visited or search queries.

2. How we use the information
Since we collect virtually no personal data, our use is limited to:
Ensuring the app functions properly (local encryption/decryption).
Improving stability based on anonymous error reports.
Responding to your support requests (if you contact us yourself).
We do not sell, exchange, or transfer your data to third parties. We do not display personalized ads.

3. When information may be disclosed
We may disclose limited technical information (e.g., the app version) only in cases provided for by law:
Upon request by a court or law enforcement agency, if required by the laws of your country.
To protect our legal rights or prevent fraud.
Under no circumstances can we disclose your passwords or storage contents, as we simply do not have them.

4. Storage and Synchronization
By default, all data is stored only locally on your device.
If you enable synchronization via iCloud (or another service supported by the app), data will be transmitted in encrypted form through the servers of the selected cloud provider. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of such providers, but we recommend using iCloud with end-to-end encryption enabled.
We do not use our own servers to store your data.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The PassSafe app does not use cookies to track or collect information. All features work without them.

6. Security
Encryption: All stored data (passwords, notes, etc.) is encrypted on your device using the AES-256 algorithm. The master password is not stored anywhere.
Offline operation: The app does not require an internet connection to access your storage.
Your Responsibility: If you forget your master password, it will be impossible to regain access to your data. We do not have any password reset mechanisms.
We regularly update the app to fix potential vulnerabilities. However, please remember that there is no such thing as absolute security—you must also use a strong master password and never share it with anyone.
7. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. In the event of significant changes (for example, if we begin collecting new types of data), we will notify you via the app or by email (if you have provided your email address to our support team). The current version is always available in the app and on our website.
By continuing to use PassSafe after changes are made, you agree to the updated Policy.

8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA and Others)
Depending on your region, you may have the right to:
Request information about what data we store about you (answer: practically none).
Request that your data be deleted (simply uninstall the app, and all local data will be deleted).
Withdraw your consent to data processing (e.g., for the anonymous submission of error reports) via the app settings.
To exercise these rights, contact us at: privacy@passsafe.com (replace “example” with your actual email address) . We will respond within 30 days.
